Sylfirm in Kuala Lumpur
Remove redness. Lighten stubborn pigment. Smoothen uneven texture.
Pigment and redness behave differently in Malaysian skin. Heat can trigger post-inflammatory darkening, and flare-ups return easily after the sun. Sylfirm gives us a more careful way to treat.
It delivers pulsed radiofrequency through ultra-fine needles, creating microscopic zones that reset overactive pigment and support collagen without unnecessary bulk heat. That is why recovery is usually quick and results look natural when parameters are chosen correctly.
WHY WE USE SYLFIRM
Why Sylfirm?
Histology from Sylfirm studies also shows thickening of the basement membrane and reduction of melanin and abnormal small vessels, which supports tone stability over time. It also help to repair aging skin and restore skin barrier.
Most devices heat broadly and hope pigment settles. Sylfirm’s pulsed RF targets the dermis in short bursts. In clinical work, pulsed microneedling RF has shown maintenance benefits for melasma after standard therapy, helping to reduce relapse on the treated side.
Sylfirm is suitable for individuals seeking to address multiple skin concerns with minimal downtime. It is clinically designed for patients who experience:
- Acne scars and enlarged pores – Improves skin texture and promotes smoother skin regeneration.
- Redness and rosacea-prone skin – Helps calm the skin, tighten tiny blood vessels, and strengthen the skin barrier.
- Pigmentation disorders – Reduces melasma, sun spots, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation for a clearer complexion.
- Skin laxity and early aging signs – Stimulates collagen and elastin remodeling for firmer, lifted skin.
- Overall dull or uneven skin tone – Revitalizes and enhances skin radiance and elasticity.
It also depends on the type and depth of pigment. Sun spots often clear faster than melasma. For melasma and mixed pigment, fractional 164 nm picosecond has shown meaningful improvement in Asian skin when used in structured protocols, which is why we plan a short series and build from there.
Sylfirm is safe and effective for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is ideal for patients who prefer a non-surgical, evidence-based approach to skin rejuvenation.

FAQs
Is Sylfirm the same as Sylfirm X?
No. Sylfirm is the earlier pulsed RF microneedling platform. It uses a pulsed delivery that has been studied for pigment and redness in Asian skin. The mechanism and treatment logic we use at Adora Clinic are based on this pulsed RF approach and peer-reviewed data.
Can it help melasma that keeps coming back?
Yes, it can be part of a maintenance plan. In a split-face study, RF microneedling helped prevent relapse of melasma after conventional therapy compared with the untreated side. You will still need sun protection and skincare.
Will it worsen pigmentation in darker skin?
That risk is why we use pulsed energy, conservative settings and doctor delivery. Studies of pulsed microneedling RF in Asian cohorts report improvement with a favourable safety profile when protocols are followed.
How many Sylfirm sessions will I need?
Most plans involve a short series spaced a few weeks apart. A 44-patient Sylfirm study on melasma and Riehl melanosis used five sessions at two-week intervals and reported clinical improvement with supportive histology. Your exact plan is personalised.
Is there downtime after using Sylfirm?
Mild redness, warmth, or micro-flaking for one to two days is common. Makeup is usually fine the next day with sunscreen.
What about acne marks and redness?
Pulsed RF microneedling has shown improvement in facial erythema associated with acne and rosacea in clinical series. We often pair Sylfirm with skincare to support the barrier while redness settles.
